Horse Riding in Morgins,Switzerland

riding schoolAfter a recent holiday in Morgins ,Joanna Starkie , a young experienced horse rider from the Channel Islands took a ride into the mountains with the Morgins riding centre – afterwards she wrote about her experience.

“Looking down on the chocolate box village of Morgins, the riding stable is in a prime location to take in the surrounding alpine views. The owner, Monica, speaks French, English and German fluently for those who’s French may not be up to scratch. She is a highly experienced instructor and equestrian, and has run her yard in Morgins for 20 years. They have several beautiful, well-trained horses and ponies to suit any size and riding ability, so you are in safe hands. Riding equipment can be borrowed from the yard so there is no worry if you don’t have your own hat.

For those looking to improve their riding skills there is an outside school overlooking Morgins were Monica holds lessons. For first timers, there are lead walks out into Morgins. Alternatively, for those with a little more experience there are hacks up into prime Swiss forest including exciting stream crossings, cantering and a chance to take in the glorious Morgins scenery from a unique perspective. Rides are easy to arrange by contacting Monica in advance.” Joanna Starkie
