Committing to a ski trip in the current economic climate is a difficult decision; Switzerland has a reputation for being expensive anyway, so you may be surprised to hear that Switzerland and the Portes du Soleil region offer a great opportunity to ski on a more limited budget. The exchange rate is not quite as punishing as the euro at present, plus accommodation tends to be more spacious than in French resorts, so better value.
